Paul Mason
A little bit about me…
I started in mechatronics engineering and computer science 25 years ago and built up an engineering and R&D team from 2 up to nearly 50 engineers, working on everything from body electronics and infotainment systems to radar vision systems, Bluetooth and WiFi solutions, and helping to grow the company from $3m to almost $100m turnover.
I had a few startups along the way, supplying motorbike accessories, musical instruments, and consumer electronics via custom e-commerce sites, eBay, and Amazon in Australia and the US.
I spent a few years working with Austrian-based Magna Steyr in Shanghai on solar electric vehicle concepts, systems engineering and strategic sourcing for various car companies in China, and returned to Australia in 2016 to start an engineering consultancy to deliver quality engineering services to the Chinese and Australian markets.
Over the past 10 years I have walked through over 500 factories, providing operational and technology improvement advice to hundreds of businesses. Over that time my services have evolved from design and engineering, to manufacturing, to business support, and more recently commercialisation advice, with the past 2 years supporting the federal government’s Industry Growth Program to work with some of the most innovative Aussie startups in raising capital, developing their products, and commercialising their solutions, and helped them gain nearly $8m in grant funding along the way.
If you are not yet ready to engage, i’d still love to hear from you and I wear a bunch of different hats to support Aussie manufacturing that may be of interest to you.
